The Vintage Sports Car Club of Australia Ltd (VSCCA) welcomes owners and enthusiasts of Vintage sports cars and specials, Post vintage sports cars and specials and Eligible Sports Cars and specials. Download our Membership Application Form.

MEMBERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

There are a number of different categories of membership available in the VSCCA, these being: 

1.    Vintage Sports Car Member (VSC Member)

A person is qualified to be a VSC Member of the Club if they are over the age of 18 years and the owner of any of a Vintage Sports Car, Vintage Sports Car Special, Post-Vintage Sports Car or a Post-Vintage Sports Car Special

A Vintage Sports Car (VSC) is any motor car built prior to 1 January, 1931.

A Vintage Sports Car Special (VSC Special) is any motor car, no matter when built, which is constructed of at least 5 of the Major Components all of which such Major Components must have been manufactured prior to 1 January, 1931. Click here to see schedule of major components.

A Post-Vintage Sports Car is a motor car built after 31 December 1930 and before 1 January, 1941 and being either:

(a) motor car specified in Schedule I (click here to see Schedule I); or
(b) a motor car which has similar technical features, sporting performance or body styling to any motor car specified in Schedule I and which the Executive Committee may from time to time deem to be included in Schedule I.

A  Post-Vintage Sports Car Special is any motor car no matter when built which is constructed of at least 5 of the Major Components all of such Major Components must have been manufactured prior to 1 January, 1941 and have formed part of or replacement parts for a Vintage Sports Car or Post-Vintage Sports Car.

All VSC Members have full voting rights and are eligible to serve on the Executive Committee and as Office Bearers.

2.    Eligible Sports Car Member (ESC Member)

A person is qualified to be an ESC Member of the Club if the person is over the age of 18 years and the owner of an Eligible Sports Car or an Eligible Sports Car Special. 

An Eligible Sports Car (ESC) means a motor car other than a sedan built after 31 December, 1940 and before the NSW Government RMS cut-off date for concessional registration eligibility (i.e. more than 30 years old) and being:

(a) A motor car specified in Schedule II (click here to see Schedule II);
(b) A motor car which has similar technical features, sporting performance or body styling to any motor car specified in Schedule II and which the Executive Committee may from time to time deem to be included in Schedule II.  
 
An Eligible Sports Car Special (ESC Special) is any motor car no matter when built which is constructed of at least 5 of the Major Components all of such Major Components must have been manufactured prior to the RMS Date as above and have formed part of or replacement parts for a Vintage Sports Car, Post-Vintage Sports Car or Eligible Sports Car.

ESC Members have some reduced voting rights and may serve on the Executive Committee, but not as Office Bearers.

3.    Associate Member

A person is qualified to be an Associate Member of the Club if over 18 years of age and does not own a Vintage Sports Car, Vintage Sports Car Special, Post Vintage Sports Car, Post-Vintage Sports Car Special, Eligible Sports Car or Eligible Sports Car Special but has a keen interest in and enthusiasm for such sports cars.

Associate members have no voting rights.

4.    Junior Associate Member

A person is qualified to be a Junior Associate Member of the Club if over the age of 14 years but under the age of 18 years and owns a Vintage Sports Car, Vintage Sports Car Special, Post-Vintage Sports Car, Post-Vintage Sports Car Special, Eligible Sports Car or Eligible Sports Car Special or is deemed worthy of admission to the Club by reason of their interest in and enthusiasm for such sports cars.

5.    Family Member

A person is qualified to be a Family Member if they are the spouse or under 25-year old child of a current VSC, ESC or Honorary Life member.

Family Members have reduced voting rights and may not serve on the Executive Committee.

6.    Honorary Life Member

The VSCCA has a number of Honorary Life Members who have been granted this permanent status by the Executive Committee in recognition of outstanding service to the Club.

7.    All members

All proposed members will require nomination for membership of the Club and then be approved for membership of the Club by the Executive Committee.

Schedule of Major Components

This means any of the following major car components:

1.    Chassis frame
2.    Engine
3.    Gearbox
4.    Rear axle assembly
5.    Front axle assembly
6.    Steering box and column
7.    Radiator shell.

Schedule I. Vehicle make:
