Location of Event
You will find the Fiat Club Grounds at Percival Street in Clarendon, next to the Richmond Royal Australian Air Force base. Entry is via a driveway with a small sign saying “Ansell Park, Private Property”. 

About
Nestled off the road and set amongst established deciduous trees there are two flat mown areas for separate driving activities.

The test area is spacious for the six gymkhana tests while there is a separate practise area (“South Park”) where novice drivers can learn and build their classic driving skills in safety.  This is not a speed event.

There are toilets but no other facilities, so bring your own morning tea, picnic lunch, and chairs. Dogs and children are welcome on a lead.

The VSCCA, in conjunction with the Alvis Car Club, is putting on another day of driving tests at the FIAT club grounds. The course of between 6 and 8 tests of driving skill is set on a flat mown paddock which is gentle on vehicles and drivers.

Younger people can participate as passengers who will be challenged with their own tests.

People who have never driven a vintage car can get some practice in a separate paddock area, where they can come to terms with vintage steering brakes and gear changes. This was very popular last year. If they feel confident enough they can head out and take the tests.

Lunch will be a “bring your own picnic”

There are BBQ facilities available. Lunch was held under the trees, sitting on running boards, and without flies.

This is a very relaxed, country-style event, within an hour of central Sydney.

It is a great introduction for children, grandchildren, friends and other relatives who may wish to attempt the vintage experience. Apart from anything else, it is one of the nicest picnic areas which we will have to ourselves for the day. See photos from prior years.

The All Historic Racing Committee has invited VSCCA members for an informal track day at Pheasant Wood. This will be a timed event but there is no competition. There is speed grading of entrants.

Join us for a Twilight Drive

We will meet at the Cowan Truck Stop by 1.00 pm for a 1.30pm departure with the objective of driving to the St Albans Pub or Wiseman’s Ferry Pub. You can stay for a meal (we have no booking) or head home as you wish.

it is important that you are fully fuelled at the start as there is no fuel along the way.

The Twilight Rally is an excellent opportunity to share your passion and bring along your son, daughter, grandchild, niece or nephew.

Picnic Area 2 @ St Ives Showground

The VSCCA has booked Picnic Area 2 of the St Ives Showground from 10am to 3pm for our opening Rally.

This is a well shaded space with a wood barbecue and picnic tables - and it's close to public amenities. It is located beside the Louise Lennon Pavilion which can be used as a wet weather alternative.

Cootamundra Sprints

Do you have a pre-1985 car that you would like to race?

If so, try COOTAMUNDRA SPRINTS. Saturday, 2 September @ Cootamundra Airport.

Sunday 3 September is the Cootamundra Swap Meet which is always popular.

Just YOU, YOUR CAR and the CLOCK.

Cars will be pre-1985 and will participate in either full speed timed acceleration sprints or regularity sprints. Entry fee is $90.00. Why not join us?

Sprints for vintage and pre-1985 cars 

The 1.5km long, 18m wide, Cootamundra Airport runway allows two cars to safely run side by side over the timed 400m.

Cars will be pre-1985 and will participate in either full speed timed acceleration sprints or regularity sprints. The latter allows vintage cars to accelerate over the 400m at any comfortable speed they choose and once a time has been given then the object will be to come as close to that as possible in subsequent runs.

We will continue the informal arrangement of past years in which competitors choose their running mate as generally, this has resulted in good matches.

We create good old fashioned vintage fun without risking the cars. State of the art electronic timing is used.

Entry fee is $90

Roll bars are not required. No other licensing is required. The event will be open to VSCCA, VSCC Vic, HSRCA, GEAR, Alvis Car Club, Austin 7 Car Club, Cootamundra Car Club, Lotus Car Club, Morgan Club, MG Car Club, Triumph Car Club and other car clubs with suitable cars as set out in the supplementary regulations. Limited space available

The event will be limited to 80 cars to ensure everyone gets adequate runs so first in first served. The event will be subject to, and comply with, any special Covid restrictions at the time.

First run at 10.00am

Cootamundra is about four and a half hours drive from Sydney.

A free Happy Hour is included.  Saturday night dinner at the Cootamundra Services Club will be $35 per person PLUS drinks.

Night Trials

Start time: 4.15 pm for the first cars to depart at 4.30 pm (sunset is at 4.55 pm).

Depart from: Todd’s shed, Unit 15, 122-126 Old Pittwater Road, Brookvale.

The Trial: Drive for one and a half to two hours. Return to the shed beef ragu and wine afterwards.

National Motoring Heritage Day Picnic

Sunday, 21 May @ 11.30 am

Members are invited to join us for a picnic at "Colo River Park”, located at the corner of Putty Road and Upper Colo Road (highlighted in yellow in the map below).

Turn Left off Putty Road if heading north onto the Upper Colo Road travel about 200 meters down the road and turn right under the Bridge and the park is located right there.

This is a public park in the City of the Hawkesbury. There are public toilets and some picnic tables. Our suggestion is to bring your own seating and tables. We look forward to seeing you there.
