1953 Lancia Aurelia B20 GT Coupe, 3rd series, 2.5 litre V6

The Aurelia B20 V6 coupe was the first real Grand Tourisimo. It is also considered the first production automobile to utilise V6 power.

Some notable successes in motorsport:

  • 1st in class at Le Mans in 1951

  • 2nd at Mille Miglia in the same year

  • 1st three places in the Targa Florio in 1952

The car was purchased on 24 March 1966 from Lambda Motors in Surry Hills Sydney by Lancia car enthusiast, Ken Palmer. He is thought to have been the third owner of the car. Alistair retains the car in Palmer ownership.
